Route X02 operates a single journey in each direction Monday to Friday, towards the city centre in the morning and towards Chilwell in the evening. It is limited stop between Beeston Interchange and Nottingham City Centre and does not run to a fixed route, although there are commonly used set-down points near QMC. The morning journey is timed to arrive into the city centre just in time for a 9am start in the office!

Although it is an unusual and niche service, Robertson Buses has provided it for many years and there have been many incarnations over time as to the number of journeys and the stopping pattern. The X02 has traditionally been the 'in service' working of a positioning move, and currently the X02 bus goes on to spend the rest of its day on the X11. Therefore the X02 typically uses large single deck buses.
