Monday to Saturday, every hour, route 205 skirts the west side of Nottingham, making it possible to travel between the towns it connects without the need to go through the city centre. At one end of the route lies the village or Ruddington, from where it heads through Clifton, then past the university to Beeston, onto Wollaton, up through Aspley to Bulwell, and finally Hucknall.
205 began in 2017 as Townlink, operated by RB but incorporated into the City Council's Linkbus network with matching branding. From 2019 the council cut the route from its network, leaving Robertson Buses to continue running it on a commercial basis. From then it was numbered 205 to match the rest of the network. Small to mid size single decker buses are used on the 205, and RB's first electric bus, supplied new in 2017 by the council, can usually be found on this route.
